Friday night Scott, Mike and Myself went to find queens park in Glasgow. We had to cross The Clyde (a river) and ended up traveling a total of 6 miles there and back. We decided it would be much better in the daylight and will probably make the trek again when our feet don't remember what they endured to get there. We paused for a respite in a pub where I ordered a ham sandwich...they were not much of a food joint but the (literally) slice of buttered ham between two slices of white bread was welcome relief.
Saturday proved much more exciting as we went to Edinburgh via bus (round trip for 8.40 pounds). We played tourist and saw almost everything we planned to see and some. We coughed up money to tour the castle which was so incredibly fascinating that we barely left in time to make it to the top of Arthur's Seat, a mountain located in the middle of the city, in time for the sunset. We were running short on time due to the sun and so I pushed everyone to climb up the most direct path to the top of what looked like it was Arthur's Seat. (path seen here next to Scott's head). So we climbed the mostly vertical sheep's path to the top of the ridge where we discovered that the path on top led back down the ridge to the right all the way into a valley where the start of the trail to the real Arthur's Seat begins (a mostly wasted effort...but the view from the top of the hill was more than pleasant)
So we climbed the real Arthur's Seat which was beautiful and if it wasn't so chilly out because of the wind on top of it I'm sure we would have stayed there for hours. Another cool thing we saw was JK Rollings Flat "The birthplace of Harry Potter" which was located above "The Elephant House".
Tonight's Difficulties will be finding somewhere to watch the Superbowl. Soccer has been very entertaining on TV. Last night we watched two teams (I dk which ones) play and while one team had control of the ball almost the whole game they never scored. meanwhile the other team ran the ball down the field a grand total of three times(very little) and scored on one of them thus at half time they had the most points. There is way to much effort for so little scoring.
